Aqueous-Coated Paper Used in GMZ Paper Cups Achieves DIN Home Compostable Certification and Meets the AS 5810 Standard

Anhui, China, March 1, 2026 – GMZ Pack announced that the base paper used in its aqueous-coated paper cups has achieved DIN Home Compostable certification issued by Germany’s DIN CERTCO and meets the AS 5810 home composting standard managed by the Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA). These certifications indicate that GMZ’s aqueous-coated base paper can biodegrade under typical home composting conditions, including natural, low-temperature environments without the need for industrial composting facilities. During the degradation process, the material does not produce toxic residues and can ultimately break down into organic compost. This provides a more sustainable end-of-life solution for food packaging and supports the food service industry’s transition to more environmentally responsible packaging systems.

Unlike industrial composting standards that require elevated temperatures, these certifications verify that materials can break down under natural household composting conditions while ensuring that the resulting compost does not negatively affect plant growth or soil quality.
